Current Affairs of March 18, 2025 for the Single Day Exams of RO/ARO, Patwari and TET to be held in Uttar Pradesh.
1. International Workshop and Training Camp organized in Noida: International workshop and training camp on entrepreneurship will be organized in Noida from 20 March.

This workshop will be held at the National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) in Noida.
- In this workshop, participants from more than 20 countries will learn quality related to the development of entrepreneurship and neutrality.
- This workshop will be organized by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
2. State Level Senior Women Handball Competition organized in Ambedkaranagar: A state level open women’s handball competition is being organized in Ambedkaranagar district from 16 March.

Additional District Magistrate Dr. Sadanand Gupta (Central) inaugurated the state level senior women’s handball competition.
- The tournament is being organized at the Government Eklavya Sports Stadium in Ambedkaranagar.
- A total of 10 teams are participating in this tournament.
- It is being organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh.

3. Chandrayaan-5 mission received the approval of the Center: On 16 March, Dr. V. Narayanan, President of the Indian Space Research Organization ie ISRO, announced the approval of the Chandrayaan-5 mission by the Government of India.

In September 2024, the Chandrayaan-4 mission was approved from the Government of India.
- Chandrayaan-5 will take the rover weighing 250 kg to study the surface of the moon.
- Japan will be the associate country of India in the Chandrayaan-5 mission.
4. ASEAN Defense Ministers will have a conference in New Delhi: From 19 to 20 March 2025, a conference of ASEAN Defense Ministers on counter terrorism in New Delhi will be held as well as the 14th meeting of the Expert Working Group (EWG).

India and Malaysia will co-chair the 14th meeting of the Specialist Working Group (EWG) with the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ conference.
- The event is participating in the event 10 ASEAN member nations (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand) and 8 Dialogues Associate countries (Australia, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Japan, China, USA and Russia) participating.
5. Organizing 10th National Conference on Economics of Competition Act in New Delhi: On 16 March, the 10th National Conference on Economics of Competition Act was organized in New Delhi.

Minister of State for Corporate and Road Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra inaugurated the conference.
- This conference brings scholars, businessmen and experts working in the field of economics of competition law on a platform.
- It is organized by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) every year since 2016.
6. Famous Oriya litterateur Ramakant Rath died: Famous Oriya litterateur Ramakant Rath passed away on 16 March.

Kate Dinar, many cells, suspected deer, seventh season etc. are the major poems of Ramakant Rath.
- He was born in December 1934 in Cuttack (Odisha).
- He has been decorated with Sarla Award, Sahitya Akademi Award, Sarasuva Award, Saraswati Award and Kabir Samman for his literary works.
- In 2006, Ramakant Rath was awarded the Padma Bhushan in the field of literature and education by the Government of India.

7. New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon visits India: On March 16, New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon arrived in New Delhi on his 5-day (16-20 March 2025) visit to New Delhi.

- Christopher Luxon will attend the inaugural session of ‘Raisina Dialogue-2025’ as the chief guest.
- During this visit, many agreements related to sports, education, environment and trade and investment between India and New Zealand are to be finalized.
- In the year 2026, both countries have decided to celebrate 100 years of sports relations.
8. India – New Zealand announced to start FTA talks: On March 16, 2025, India-New Zealand announced to launch talks for the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

The FTA was announced by India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal (right) and New Zealand trade and investment minister Tod McLe (left) in New Delhi.
- The purpose of India-New Zealand FTA talks is to achieve balanced results that increase supply chain integration and improve market access.
- The Indo-Pacific region has a long-term partnership between India and New Zealand, based on shared democratic values, strong relations and economic supplements among people.
