Soha Ali Khan recently shared some interesting things related to the life of his parents in an interview. He told that his father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, whom people used to call ‘Tiger’ with love, played cricket like a passion, not to earn money.

Soha said, ‘We are often inspired by the same people who are around us. For me, that person was my father. By the time I was born, he had retired. He played cricket only for enjoyment. At that time there was neither IPL, nor advertising, nothing. There was no money in cricket at that time.

Soha further said that her mother was Sharmila Tagore earning in her house. ‘Papa always used to say that to do what you keep happy. I saw Mummy that even after marriage she listened to her heart. She was married at the age of 24. At that time, the marriage of the actress meant that career was over. But Mummy worked even after marriage and gave some of her biggest hit films at the same time.

Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi were married in 1968. At that time this marriage was very much discussed because it was an inter-feeth wedding. Soha told in Twinkle Khanna’s show ‘Twiks India’, ‘Mummy-father was receiving threats before marriage. Someone even said, there is no need to speak, now the bullets will speak.

Soha also told, ‘My maternal grandparents had booked Fort William for marriage, but there were more army connections in the procession, so it was refused at the last moment. Then a big bungalow of an ambassador friend was found, where the marriage took place.

Sharmila Tagore and Pataudi Saheb spent 43 years together. Pataudi Saheb died in 2011.
