Tehwavur Rana was arrested by FBI in October 2009 in Chicago, USA. He was accused of providing necessary goods to carry out the terrorist attack in 26/11 in Mumbai and Copenhagen.
The 2008 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Tehwwur Rana is not supporting security agencies in the inquiry and is replying to twisting. The Mumbai Police gave this information on Saturday. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police on Wednesday questioned Rana for about eight hours in the NIA (National Investigation Agency) office in Delhi.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also interrogating Tahwwur Rana. The NIA inquiry is trying to find out what Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) and Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI prepared and planned for more than three years for the 26/11 attack.
Rana is also being asked questions about those people, whose names were revealed in the intercept conversation between the terrorists and their handlers during the attack. These include big terrorists like Abdur Rahman Hashim Saeed, Sajid Majeed, Ilyas Kashmiri and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
Patiala House Court of Delhi has sent Rana to the 18 -day NIA custody till 28 April. During the custody, NIA is preparing a diary of questioning Rana daily. After the last round of inquiry, it will be taken on record in the disclosure statement. This case is part of the diary.
Rana’s petition to talk to family rejected
Earlier, Delhi’s Patiala House Court rejected Rana’s petition, in which he sought permission to talk to his family on the phone while in custody. Rana’s lawyer Piyush Sachdeva said in a petition filed in the court on 22 April that he was a fundamental right to talk to his family as a foreign national. But the NIA opposed this and said that investigation is going on and Rana can leak sensitive information.
Rana confessed to contact with Sajid Mir
Tahwwur Rana NIA was told during interrogation on 13 April that he was in constant touch with Global Terrorist Sajid Mir, who is considered the mastermind of 26/11 attacks. During interrogation, Rana took the name of ‘Dubai Man’, who knew the complete planning of the attack.
The agency suspects that the person handled the network between Pakistan and Dubai and was playing an important role in the financial support of the attacks, logistic support. It was also learned that Rana also had close contact with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and had a special attachment to Pakistani army uniform.

64 -year -old Rana was brought from America to India by special aircraft on 10 April. Late in the night, Special Nia Judge Chandrajit Singh of Patiala House Court heard the case in a closed room and gave his custody to the NIA while delivering the verdict at 2 pm.

Rana has been placed in a 14×14 feet cell of the High-Scripture Ground Floor at NIA Headquarters, Lodhi Road. He is on a suicide watch and is being monitored by 24 hours guards and CCTVs. He has been given only a soft tip pen, so that he cannot harm himself.
