Tahwwur Rana, the mastermind of Mumbai’s 26/11 terrorist attack, will be brought to India on Thursday (April 10, 2025). After reaching here, he will be prosecuted. On the extradition of Tahwwur, former Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit raised the issue of the hanging of Ajmal Kasab and said that India is not supporting the trial going on in Pakistan regarding the Mumbai attack. He said that for the ongoing trial in Pakistan, Ajmal Kasab was required to stay alive, but India did not allow Pakistan to do cross examination.
Abdul Basit said that India will get a big talkings point with the arrival of Tahwwur Rana. It will be less mentioned, but it will be an attempt to tell that Pakistan’s Intelligence Agency was behind the Mumbai attack and Lashkar -e -Taiba had full support. He said that when there was a Mumbai attack, Pakistan cooperated with India, it is a different matter that India hanged Ajmal Kasab in a hurry on November 21, 2012 so that there is no evidence.
‘Pakistan did not let Ajmal be crossed with cross examination’, Abdul Basit’s charge
Abdul Basit has accused India that he is not cooperating in settling the case and Pakistan is responsible. He says that the case is going on in Pakistan at this time and 6-7 accused and India repeatedly alleges that Pakistan is not concluding the trial. He said that the crime scene is in India and if the trial is happening in Pakistan, then India cannot complete the trial without cooperation and it is not cooperating.
