Ban on Alcohol and tobacco promotion in IPL 2025: The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League will start from 22 March. The tournament will be played in Home and Away format, for which all the teams have started preparations at their own level. Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has written a letter to the IPL chairman and has written a letter to stop advertisements of tobacco and liquor including surrogate advertisement and sales during the IPL.
It has been written in the letter that at present, serious diseases like diabetes, lung diseases, cancer are increasing rapidly in India. Tobacco and alcohol consumption are the main causes of increasing these diseases. India ranks second among the most deaths due to tobacco. Every year 14 lakh people die in India due to alcohol.
Millions of earnings from advertisements in IPL
IPL is the world’s largest T20 league. The craze of this league is very much in India. There is a fight of tickets for every match. In the case of view, more viewers are recorded every year than last year. According to a report, Geostar has kept a revenue target of 4.5 thousand crores for IPL 2025. It is estimated that all 10 teams can earn around 1300 crores in sponsorship revenue.

IPL 2025 will start from 22 March
The upcoming season of IPL will be played from 22 March. The first match will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Garden. The final match of this tournament, which lasts for more than 2 months, will be played on 25 May.
