Russia ukraine ceasefire news: In view of the festival of Easter, Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced a temporary ceasefire against Ukraine. Putin has announced a one -sided ceasefire for a total of 30 hours from Saturday evening to Sunday. However, there has been no response from Ukraine about this ceasefire.
For the first time in the last three years in the Russia-Ukraine War, a ceasefire has been announced. On February 24 this year, the war has completed three years. US President Donald Trump also tried a 30 -day ceasefire on Easter but could not agree. In January 2023 too, Russia announced a ceasefire on the occasion of Christmas, but during that time the war continued from both sides.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense issued a statement
On Saturday, Russia’s Ministry of Defense issued a brief statement about the Easter ceasefire. According to the statement, Russian President (and Supreme Commander) Vladimir Putin announced the Easter ceasefire during a meeting in Kremlin. Putin got information about the situation on the border from Zoari Garasimov, the head of Russia’s Armed Forces, and announced that the Russian side would stop all military action from 6 pm on April 19 to 12 pm on April 21.
The statement said that the Russian side declares the Easter ceasefire inspired by human objectives. Quoting the Russian Ministry of Defense, Putin said that we hope Ukrainian side will also follow our example.
President Putin made this appeal to the army
President Putin, however, also said that our army should be prepared to respond to the violation of the ceasefire and any provocative or aggressive action by the enemy.
Ukraine President complains
Ukraine’s President Volodimir Jailonsky, however, said in the tone of the complaint that Russia attacked Cruise missile Iskandar at Kharkeev at 5.15 am on the eve of Easter. On the other hand, due to the mediation of UAE, Russia and Ukraine have released more than 500 prisoners. Russia and Ukraine have released 246-246 prisoners of each other. Also, Russia has also released 32 injured soldiers of Ukraine. Ukraine has also released 15 injured soldiers from Russia.
Jailonsky expressed happiness over the release of prisoners
Ukraine President Volodimir Jailonski expressed happiness over the release of the warfasts, saying that in the last three years, 4522 Ukrainian soldiers and ordinary citizens have returned home from Russia’s custody.
