Varun chakravarthy on test cracket: Varun Chakraborty has been the ‘star player’ of the Indian cricket team last month. After returning to the T20 team, he has taken 31 wickets in 11 matches. On the other hand, when he got a chance in the ODI team, he died by winning the title of Champions Trophy. Chakraborty was the second highest wicket -taker in the Champions Trophy. However, he has not played any Test match till now. Now Varun Chakraborty himself has revealed that very big reason, so that he will probably never play Test cricket.
Will Test cricket never play?
Varun Chakraborty, while discussing a podcast, said that he is interested in playing Test cricket, but his bowling style does not match Test cricket. He said, “My bowling action is very similar to a medium pace bowler. In Test cricket you have to bowl 20-30 overs continuously, I don’t think I am able to do so. Since I bowl spin at a high speed and bowl at most 10-15 overs. But it is not enough for the red ball to bowl every day, where he can bowl 20-30 overs.”
Varun Chakraborty was the first fast bowler
Let us tell you that Varun Chakraborty used to bowl fast earlier, but in the year 2017, he suffered a knee injury. After recovering from that injury, Chakravarti started spin bowling. Telling the story of Pesar becoming a spinner, Varun Chakraborty said, “If I had continued to bowl, my career would have been stuck there. Actually the ball does not swing more on Tamil Nadu’s pitches and the spinners get more help. That is why very few fast bowlers emerge from Tamil Nadu.”
