Donald Trump on Stock Market: US President Donald Trump on Monday (April 07, 2025), citing tariff reforms, asked the Americans not to be weak and foolish. He made this comment a few minutes before the Crash of the New York Stock Market, when S&P 500 3.2% less.
He said in a post on Truth Social, the United States has a chance to do something that should have been done decades ago. Do not be weak! Do not be foolish! Do not be a new party based on panicon (weak and foolish people!). Be strong, courageous and patient and it will result in greatness!
Stunction in American stock market
The US stock market also joined the world market on Monday. At 9:38 am, S&P 500 was trading at 4,870.94, declining 203 points or 4%. Nasdaq was down by 694 points or 4.45% at 14,894.10. S&P 500 saw its worst performance since the Kovid’s economic crisis in March 2020. Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 1,200 points. European and Asian markets saw a sharp decline, while the S&P 500 index future declined by 2.7% during premarket trading. By the end of last week, index was at the summit which fell 17.4%.
Crude oil prices continue to fall
The process of falling crude oil prices continued, for some time it fell below $ 60 per barrel. Dow Jones Industrial Average Futures declined by 2.4%, while Nasdaq Futures declined by 3%. Trump on Sunday confirmed his stance on mutual tariffs regarding the lack of trade deficit with partner countries and indicated that he would not negotiate until the issue is resolved.
