US President Trump Minister PT Hegaseth leaked a US attack plan on Huti rebels in Yemen on 15 March. Hegseth shared the plan in a secret group chat on the signal app. Jeffrey Goldberg, the chief editor of The Atlantic magazine, was also involved in the group. The White House gave this information on Monday.
Jeffri Goldberg reported that she was accidentally added to the group chat. This group was built on the secure messaging app signal. Which was created by National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. The group also included US Vice President JD Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio.
Goldberg wrote that on March 15 at 11:44 am, Hegseth shared information about the attacks on Yemen. In addition to the targets and weapons used, which attack was also known when and where it is to be carried out.
Goldberg reported that he did not make these plans public before the attack.
Trump said- I am not aware of the case
When asked about this report to President Donald Trump, he said that I do not know anything about it. According to the New York Times, the Defense Department Pentagon refused to comment on the matter and sent it to the National Security Council (NSC).
NSC spokesman Brian Hughes said we are investigating how a wrong number was linked to the group. Foreign Ministry spokesman Tammy Bruce refuses to make any kind of comment on the case.
Speaking to NYT, former national security officials said that if private mobile phones were used in this group chat, it could become an even more serious matter as China is constantly trying to hack the American cyber network.
