1. Prof. RK Mittal became the new Vice Chancellor of BBAU: On March 5, President Draupadi Murmu gave Prof. RK Mittal was appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University (BBAU) of Lucknow.
RK Mittal, Guru Gobind Singh of Delhi is a professor of Indraprastha University.
- Pro. RK Mittal’s term will be 5 years or 70 years of age (which is earlier).
- From March 2024, the full -time Vice Chancellor was not appointed in BBAU.

2. Sahitya Festival – 2025 started: The annual Literature Festival i.e. ‘Festival of Letters 2025’ will be held in New Delhi from March 7 to March 12, 2025.
Literary organization Sahitya Akademi is organizing this program under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
- The festival will be inaugurated by Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
- The famous English playwright Mahesh Dattani will be the chief guest of the award ceremony.
- In this festival, the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Awards will be presented in 23 languages.
- This is Asia’s largest literature festival.
3. National Karmayogi Jan Seva program organized in New Delhi: The National Karmayogi Jan Seva program is being organized at Dr. Ambedkar International Center in New Delhi from 5 to 11 March 2025.
The Secretary of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment addressed the National Karmayogi Jan Seva program by Amit Yadav.
- The program is being organized by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
- The purpose of this program is to promote the spirit of solutions oriented, kind and civic-centered government officials.
4. The President inaugurated the Amrit Festival-2025 of diversity: On 5 March, President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the ‘Amrit Mahotsav of Diversity-2025’ at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
This festival will be open to the public from 10 am to 8 pm from 6 to 9 March.
- This is the second edition of the Amrit Mahotsav of diversity, focused on South Indian states- Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as well as Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
- Its first edition was held last year, focused on Northeast India.
- The purpose of this festival is to make Rashtrapati Bhavan the center of cultural exchange.
- This festival is being organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Tourism and all participating states.
5. 48th meeting of Japan-India Trade Cooperation Committee held in New Delhi: On March 6, a 48th joint meeting of Japan-India Trade Cooperation Committee was held in New Delhi.
In this meeting, the Japanese delegation was led by Tatsuo Yasunaga (PM Modi’s right).
- The meeting discussed the high quality, low -cost manufacturing between the two countries, expansion of manufacturing for global markets and increasing cooperation on human resource development.
6. Dr. Ajit Ratnakar Joshi appointed Executive Director of RBI: On March 5, the Reserve Bank of India appointed Dr. Ajit Ratnakar Joshi as the new Executive Director.
The appointment of Dr. Ajit Ratnakar Joshi as Executive Director will be considered effective from March 3, 2025.
- Before being appointed Executive Director, Dr. Joshi was working as Principal Advisor in the Department of Statistics and Information Management.
- Dr. Joshi has more than 3 decades of experience in the fields of statistics, information technology and cyber risk management.
7. NITI Aayog announced to make Frontier Tech Hub: On March 5, NITI Aayog announced the creation of Frontier Tech Hub.
This Frontier Tech Hub (NITI-FTH) has been established by NITI Aayog as the Frontier Tech Action Tank.
- Its main objective is to enable India’s preparation to advance technological innovation and use for quick economic and social development in the direction of developed India.
- This Frontier will work closely with the experts of the tech hub industry, education and government to make a deep understanding of technical trends and their influences on India.
8. Ajay Bhadu appointed new CEO of Government e-Marketplace (GEM): On March 5, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India appointed Ajay Bhadu as the Chief Executive Officer of the e-Marketplace (GEM).
The appointment of Ajay Bhadu will be considered effective from March 3, 2025.
- Ajay Bhadu, in addition to his current Additional Secretary responsibility in the Commerce Department, will also take this role.
- E-Marketplace is currently recorded at a gross trading value (GMV) of Rs 4.58 lakh crore, which shows an increase of 28.65 percent year-on-year.
- Ajay Bhadu is a 1999 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Gujarat cadre.

9. External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar’s visit to Britain and Ireland: Indian Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar is on an official visit to the 6 -day Britain and Ireland from 4 to 9 March 2025.
During this visit, Indian Foreign Minister S.K. Jaishankar met British counterpart Foreign Secretary David Lammy.
- During this time, we will meet top UK officials to strengthen additional bilateral relations.
- There will also be talk on the Indo-Britain Free Trade Agreement under this visit of the Foreign Minister.

10. Australia-India Sports Excellence Forum organized in Gujarat: From 5 to 6 March, Australia-India Sports Excellence Forum was held at Gift City in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Khadse inaugurated the Australia-India Sports Excellence Forum on March 5, 2025.
- The main objective of this forum is to find out opportunities for cooperation in Olympic and Paralympic dialects, talent development, sports science and event management.

11. Khelo India Para Games 2025 will be held in New Delhi: Khelo India Para Games-2025 will be held from 20 to 27 March 2025 in New Delhi.
On March 5, Union Minister for Youth Program and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandavia announced the event of Khelo India Para Games-2025.
- This will be the second edition of the Khelo India Para Games.
- The first version was also held in December 2023 in Delhi.
- The upcoming Khelo India Para Games- In 2025, about 1230 para athletes will compete in six categories.
