  • The NPDD scheme focuses on modernization and expansion of the infrastructure of dairy.
  • The revised National Dairy Development Program will promote dairy sector by building milk procurement, processing capacity and better quality control.
  • Its objective is to provide better access to farmers to markets, ensure better pricing by price enriches and increase supply chain efficiency.
  • The amended NPDD scheme has a total budget of Rs 2,790 crore for a period of 15th Finance Commission cycle (2021-22 to 2025-26) from an additional outlay of Rs 1,000 crore.
