Tory Burch seems to have exploded in popularity again. I don’t know when this phenomenon started but celebrities everywhere seem to be toting Tory Burch Romy Tote bags around. People always say things like that, but Emma Roberts, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michelle Williams, Jodie Turner-Smith, Eiza Gonzalez and Suki Waterhouse have all been seen with the Tory Burch Romy Tote and Alexandra Daddario has the Tory Burch Small Romy Tote. Tory Burch is the epitomé of a luxe for less brand

You might not have noticed as these new designs fly under the radar. I mean, would you even know this was Tory Burch?! There’s no large Tory Burch logo, these are elegant and fall more into the quiet luxury at a better price category. We’re talking max of $565 which has one less zero than a lot of other high end bags celebrities tend to carry. And yes they’re still made from genuine leather.

I just got my hands on the brand new Romy Hobo Bag. Keep scrolling to read my review. Is Tory Burch still popular and in style

Yes Tory Burch is still popular, just Google celebrities with Tory Burch bags. The brands pieces are practical, timeless, versatile and come at a much more accessible price point compared to most luxury brands. They also have a strong focus on female empowerment and have given back and supported other women through the Tory Burch Foundation which was founded in 2009. I used to love Tory Burch when I lived in LA but when we moved to Las Vegas I stopped for some reason. I don’t know if it was because it wasn’t as popular or it just wasn’t my aesthetic anymore. So when I started seeing celebrities wearing the bags again I checked out their site and was so impressed with the new aesthetic. It’s been a while since I looked, so maybe it’s not new but this quiet luxury vibe is perfect for everyday life and has pieces that are actually practical.

It’s the Tory Burch Romy Tote all of the celebrities are toting around right now but only because the Hobo is so new! Expect to see a lot more of this bag this Summer. The Romy Tory Burch bag style comes in 6 iterations, all designed to be minimalistic and practical:

The Tory Burch Romy Totes and bags come in a variety of neutral colors like cream, black, brown, granite and Tiramisu AKA tan for a versatile, practical everyday bag. Although there is a lemon soufflé color if you want something fun and bright for summer.

Even the small Romy bags are a practical size and they’re lightweight unlike things like my Chanel 19 bag where the chunky chains make it a workout every time I use it.

The Tory Burch Romy Tote bag is the ‘It bag’ of the moment with celebrities everywhere carrying them. Including Emma Roberts, Jodie Turner-Smith, Michelle Williams, Jodie Turner-Smith, Eiza Gonzalez, Suki Waterhouse and Alexandra Daddario. If you want the most on trend bag this season, the Romy Tote is one of Tory Burch’s best sellers and it’ll do way less damage to your credit card than most luxury bags will.

It comes in 3 neutral leather colors or ‘wheat’ suede. It’s sleek, elegant, minimalistic and the pebbled leather makes it more durable and resistant to showing scratches. The only downside is that it can’t be used as a crossbody bag as the straps aren’t adjustable. If you want a crossbody bag you’ll want to get the Small Romy Tote, Bucket or Crossbody bag instead which all have adjustable, removable leather shoulder straps.

Tory Burch Romy Hobo Bag review

The Tory Burch Romy Hobo bag comes in 2 sizes. I was torn between the regular and small hobo bag but went with the small as I have a bag I use for travel that’s a similar size to the regular and the small is still big enough for your everyday essentials. It fits my phone, sunglasses case, water bottle, protein bars, wallet, keys, and makeup bag. You won’t have seen many people or celebrities with this bag yet (or at the time I wrote this) as it’s Tory Burch’s newest release.

I went with the light cream as I have so many black bags and we are heading into Summer. Now to keep it clean! It’s one of those bags you can take everywhere for both work and play, day to night. PS Lots more photos coming later this week when the wind and rain stops!

As much as I love chain straps this leather strap is way more comfortable for carrying it for longer periods of time and the marks chains leave isn’t cute. Even though it is, as with all bags, to retain their shape, try to avoid over stuffing them.

It doesn’t have a zipper so if you’re worried about pickpockets or things falling out, use the dust bag it comes with as the bag liner. Problem solved!

The strap is adjustable, so you can make it the length you want although you’re not going to be able to make it long enough to wear it as a crossbody bag. It’s crafted from the same soft pebbled leather as the other Romy bags and is more spacious interior, than it looks.Meaning you can even fit your smart phone in them.

Like the Romy Bucket Bag, you can adjust the opening of this version, allowing you to conceal your belongings whenever necessary. Also like the Romy Bucket Bag, the Romy Small Crossbody bag comes with a long, 22.2″ (56.5cm) drop adjustable, detachable strap.

Tory Burch Romy Bags conclusion

I can totally see why celebrities are wearing the soft pebbled leather Romy bag. From first hand experience I can say the Tory Burch Romy Hobo is lightweight, feels luxurious and safer to carry around than my Dior or Chanle bags with their obvious branding.

The minimalist design and neutral color is also unlikely to date. I’m definitely going to be using this as a city bag and to travel with as it doesn’t have the obvious logos that most of my bags do and it’ll go with everything. This is one bag that’s easy to throw a load of stuff in and go. Although for a Mom bag who needs everything or if you want to fit your laptop, you might prefer the Romy Hobo Bag or Romy Tote which I also have on my wishlist to the small version I have.

This bag is definitely going to be one of my most used bags for everyday this Spring and Summer. Thanks to the spacious nature of this Tory Burch bag it’s perfect for everyday and I tend to use the interior pocket for my credit card holder to make it easy to find.

How to style the Romy bag

Tory Burch Romy Tote and bag collection are one of those relaxed bags that works best for everyday, the office, running errands, or travel rather than being an evening bag. After work drinks yes, with a cocktail dress not sure much. But it does go with pretty much everything else, like your loungewear, jeans, summer dresses, and workwear.

When considering which of the Romy bag options to go for consider how you prefer to carry your bag, what size you need, what color you’re missing from your handbag collection or will get the most use from and not just which style you like the most. Although, that’s a big factor too.

The Romy Crossbody and Bucket Bag look very similar and both can be worn crossbody. However, the Bucket Bag has a top handle, is bigger and only has 1 interior pocket VS the Crossbody having 2. Don’t expect to find these styles on sale or in an outlet anytime soon, these bags are too new and too popular for that!
