Tips Music and Sony Music Publishing have announced an expansion of their global publishing partnership. It has now incorporated YouTube (outside India) as a key platform for international publishing exploitation of Tips Music’s extensive catalog.
This renewed agreement underscores both companies’ dedication to expanding the reach of Indian music worldwide. This is because Bollywood soundtracks continue to gain popularity in international markets. The deal covers administration, synchronization, and enhanced promotion of Tips Music’s vast repertoire across leading global digital platforms.

Guy Henderson, President of International at Sony Music Publishing, expressed enthusiasm about the renewed collaboration, stating: “We are delighted to strengthen our relationship with Kumar and the Tips team. Their consistent growth has been impressive over the years, and we look forward to supporting their continued success and expansion on the global stage.”

This renewal marks an important step forward, with YouTube now offering even greater opportunities for our artists and catalog to connect with global audiences.”

Dinraj Shetty, Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing India, added: “Expanding our collaboration with Tips Music signifies a new phase of growth and global impact. By combining their iconic catalog with our publishing expertise, we aim to bring Indian music to a broader international audience.”

Hari Nair, CEO of Tips Music Ltd, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, stating: “Sony Music Publishing’s world-class reporting systems and expert teams provide us with unparalleled insights into our publishing revenues. This enhanced agreement allows us to tap into their extensive international network. YouTube’s inclusion should further boost our global publishing revenues.”
Under the extended multi-year agreement, Sony Music Publishing secures expanded rights to Tips Music’s catalog. The catalog includes over 32,000 tracks spanning 24 languages. This diverse collection represents some of India’s most iconic film soundtracks and popular songs.
Looking ahead, Tips Music plans to invest significantly in new music, with 12-15 Bollywood and regional film albums set for release annually. Additionally, the company continues to develop independent music under its Tips Originals brand.
