Meanwhile, people’s problems have increased due to garbage, rotten bins and smelly streets scattered on the road. In such a situation, the local people are angry and are accusing the government that they are trying to make Birmingham a ‘third world country’.

Causes of waste crisis
The reason behind this strike is not just the deduction of the job of garbage collection employee. This problem has been going on since the year 2017, even then the garbage staff went on strike in this Birmingham. At that time, the council had created a new position to increase the salaries of the employees, which was called WRCO. But this post was really only a way to give more salary to employees, not the creation of a new work.
After this, the Birmingham Council suffered defeat in terms of equal pay for women employees. The council was alleged to have given more salary to male employees but did not provide the same facilities for female employees. With this, Birmingham had to pay 1.1 billion pounds and now the council is trying to eliminate garbage collection post to overcome this financial crisis.
