Us warns syria: The US State Department on Saturday (March 29, 2025) warned its citizens in Syria about the increasing risk of attacks during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. Damascus cited potential threats for embassies, international organizations and public institutions in Damascus.
The warning gives information about possible ways of attack, which may include individual attackers, armed gunmen and explosive equipment. The US government has urged its citizens to leave Syria immediately. Travel advisory for Syria remains at the fourth position: Do not travel. The State Department has cited the risks of terrorism, civil unrest, kidnapping, hostage, armed conflict and detaining without proper procedure.
American Embassy has been closed since 2012
The US embassy in Damascus has been closed since 2012. The US government cannot provide regular or emergency consulate services to its citizens in Syria. The Czech Republic acts as a power to protect American interests in the country. American citizens who need emergency assistance in Syria have been advised to contact the US interest section in the Czech Embassy in Damascus.

The State Department has advised American citizens to leave Syria immediately, avoid large crowds, meetings and demonstrations and to be vigilant in places to be seen often by people from Western countries. People have been urged that if the situation deteriorates, they should be prepared to stay in a safe place, review personal security plans and charge mobile phones for emergency.
