The rescue team got the first body on the 16th day of the Telangana Tunnel accident. The body is stuck in the machine. The work of cutting the machine is going on to remove the dead body. On 7 March, Snifer Dogs (investigative dogs) were taken to the tunnel.
The rescue officer reported that only hands of the body trapped in the machine were visible. On the previous day, the state’s irrigation minister Uttam Kumar Reddy had told that investigative dogs have detected a strong smell at a particular place. It is learned that there are three people present there.
After this, the debris accumulated there was being removed. However, it is not yet clear whether the body is found in the same place or from some other place. Robots are also being used to accelerate the rescue operations. There are 525 personnel in search of laborers.
A part of the Srisalam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel in Nagarakurnul in the state collapsed on 22 February. Because of this, 8 laborers working inside were trapped. The state government had said that we are very likely to survive, but we will make every effort.

Warned 5 years ago, no action was taken In 2020, the tunnel survey was conducted by a company named Embg Tech AG. The company alerted the threat to some fault zone and weak rocks in the tunnel. The survey report was also given to the tunnel making company Jayaprakash Associates Limited.
The report stated that the rocks from 13.88 km to 13.91 km of the 14 km long tunnel are weak. This part is also filled with water. There is also a danger of slipping the ground. According to rescuers, the part which was described as dangerous in the report has fallen.
However, whether the irrigation department of the state government knew whether it was not clear. An irrigation department official says that he is not aware of any such report.

Workers leaving work According to reports, some laborers working in the tunnel after the accident have left the work due to fear. The senior government official said that 800 people are working in the Srisalam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) project.
Of these, 300 are local and the rest are from Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. The officer also said that there is definitely fear among laborers in the beginning. However, the company has set up residential camps for them. Some people may want to go back, but we have no report that all the workers are leaving together.
