Automatic hydraulic-ebley robot has been deployed to search for seven laborers trapped in the SLBC tunnel accident in Telangana. This robot is equipped with a particular technology, which will help in increasing the speed of search operation.

According to officials, with this robot, 30 hp capacity liquid ring vacuum pumps and vacuum tank machines have been deployed, which will lead to the work of soil removal. Instead of manual excavation, this robot is capable of removing debris in an automatic manner. About 620 cubic meters in an hour can be extracted from the soil tunnel.

State Special Chief Secretary (Disaster Management) Arvind Kumar is monitoring this search operation. The operation includes the Indian Army, NDRF, SDRF, Human Remnant Dog (HRDD), Singreni Collaries, Hyderabad -based robotics company and other agencies.

Currently 7 laborers stranded, a dead body was recovered on 9 March

Please tell that on February 22, a part of this tunnel was demolished, in which a total of eight engineers and laborers were trapped. The seven workers still stranded include Manoj Kumar (Uttar Pradesh), Sunny Singh (Jammu and Kashmir), Gurpreet Singh (Punjab), Sandeep Sahu, Jeta Access and Anuj Sahu (Jharkhand).

Warned 5 years ago, no action was taken In 2020, the tunnel survey was conducted by a company named Embg Tech AG. The company alerted the threat to some fault zone and weak rocks in the tunnel. The survey report was also given to the tunnel making company Jayaprakash Associates Limited.

The report stated that the rocks from 13.88 km to 13.91 km of the 14 km long tunnel are weak. This part is also filled with water. There is also a danger of slipping the ground. According to rescuers, the part which was described as dangerous in the report has fallen.

However, whether the irrigation department of the state government knew whether it was not clear. An irrigation department official says that he is not aware of any such report.

Workers leaving work According to reports, some laborers working in the tunnel after the accident have left the work due to fear. The senior government official said that 800 people are working in the Srisalam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) project.

Of these, 300 are local and the rest are from Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. The officer also said that there is definitely fear among laborers in the beginning. However, the company has set up residential camps for them. Some people may want to go back, but we have no report that all the workers are leaving together.
