An important news has come out for the youth preparing for government jobs. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has decided to include Aadhaar based biometric verification in all its upcoming recruitment examinations.
This system will be implemented from May 2025 and will be voluntary at the moment. The purpose of this decision is to make the examination process more transparent, safe and easy.

What is SSC?
SSC is one of the largest recruitment agencies in the country, which conducts examinations for appointment to non-gazetted posts in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. According to the officials, now the candidates will get the facility to verify the identity by using Aadhaar during online registration, filling the application form and registering their presence at the examination centers.
Cheating will be controlled
According to reports, the Commission believes that this new step will prove to be effective in preventing disturbances and fraud related to identity in the examination system. It has often been seen that some candidates sit in the examination in the examination or hide their identity and appear in the examination. Aadhaar based biometric verification will curb such possibilities.

Permission was already received
It is worth noting that in the notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel of the Central Government on 12 September 2024, the SSC had allowed the Aadhaar certification on a voluntary basis. Under this, the Commission conducts seven major all India examinations and three departmental competitive examinations including the Joint Graduate Level Examination (CGL).
UPSC has already adopted this method
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already implemented the Aadhaar based certification system. The ministry issued a notification in this regard on 28 August 2024. This decision is being considered a major step towards the fairness of recruitment examinations and the real identity of the candidates.
