District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (Consumer Court) Chairman Gyarsi Lal Meena and member Hemlata Aggarwal heard on 5 March. The next hearing date has been fixed at 10 am on March 19. The court has said that if you fail to appear personally or through your authorized representative, a unilateral decision will be taken.
Paan Masala Industry is earning crores Complainant Yogendra Singh Badiyal has claimed that the advertisement states that ‘the rash has the power of saffron’. Due to this, JB Industries is earning crores of rupees. Common people are eating pan masala regularly. It is harmful to health and is causing serious diseases like cancer.
Yogendra Singh Badiyal said in the complaint
The public is being wooed to buy Vimal Pan Masala in the name of saffron -rich gutkha. Common people are getting confused in the name of saffron, while there is no such thing as saffron in the said product. The price of saffron in the market is Rs 4 lakh per kg, while the price of pan masala is only 5 rupees.
In the complaint, he said-there is loss of publicity
Badiyal has demanded action against the manufacturer company and those involved in the promotion of the product for spreading wrong information and cheating the general public. The complaint said that due to this false propaganda and dissemination, the health of the general public is having a wrong impact. The manufacturer and people involved in publicity are different and indirectly responsible for this. He has demanded a fine on the accused, justice and ban on advertising and paan masala in the interest of the general public with immediate effect.
