Sprint Rankings: Rain Continues To Slow Winged Racers

Rain once again hampered the winged 410 sprint car racing industry this past weekend.

Only six races were run as scheduled, keeping many drivers from reaching the 20-start plateau that officially opens the National Sprint Car Rankings.

Only two drivers — Anthony Macri and Austin McCarl — have currently reached 20 starts. Macri has the better average finish of the duo with a 9.952 average finish in 21 races this season.

All seven regions have now opened.

Sam Hafertepe Jr. extended his advantage in the Western region, while Bryce Lucius moved to the top spot in the Great Lakes region. Austin McCarl now leads the way in the Great Plains region.

No races were run in the Eastern, Northwestern, Mid-America or OH-PA regions, with Brock Zearfoss, Trey Starks, Carson Macedo and A.J. Flick leading those stanzas, respectively.

Forty-three drivers have combined to win the 67 features run this season with World of Outlaws point leader David Gravel, who won Friday at Eldora Speedway, leading the way with six victories.

Eastern Region

  1. Brock Zearfoss 721
  2. Anthony Macri 712
  3. Danny Dietrich 658
  4. Chase Dietz 586
  5. Freddie Rahmer 564
