Newly released police bodycam footage reveals the eerie and tragic scene inside Gene Hackman’s $4 million Santa Fe estate. Officers found parts of the home frozen in time, beds unmade, clothes strewn about, rotting fruit in the kitchen, and scattered medication bottles. Hackman’s lifeless body was discovered in a separate wing, while his wife Betsy Arakawa’s remains lay near one of their crated dogs, Zinnia, who had also died. Another dog sat nearby, appearing to guard Betsy even in death. Among the haunting discoveries: a blood-stained pillow, a used COVID-19 test, and an email from Betsy expressing concern over Hackman’s illness. Gene Hackman, 95, and Betsy, 65, were last seen in public a month before their bodies were found on February 26.
