Saiyaara box office collection Day 1: Ahaan Panday-Aneet Padda starrer starts its theatrical run with a bang as the film earns Rs 20 crore on its opening day
When a film featuring fresh faces makes a massive dent at the box office on day one, it is bound to grab attention. Yash Raj Studios and director Mohit Suri seem to have cracked the code with Saiyaara, starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. As per early estimates by Sacnilk, the film has earned a staggering Rs 20 crore on its opening day, making it the fourth biggest opener of 2025, trailing only behind Chhaava (Rs 31 crore), Sikandar (Rs 26 crore), and Housefull 5 (Rs 24 crore).

A Stunning Start for a Debutant Duo
Debut films are always a gamble, but Saiyaara has exceeded expectations. While Aneet Padda had previously appeared in Amazon Prime Video’s web series Big Girls Don’t Cry and the film Salaam Venky, this is Ahaan Panday’s official Bollywood debut. Despite his “star kid” tag—being Ananya Panday’s cousin—Ahaan’s first film needed strong content to back him up, and Saiyaara seems to have delivered just that.
Even with aggressive promotions, no one expected such an opening. The movie was released in over 7,000 shows across India, with an impressive 49.9% average occupancy throughout the day. Morning shows reported 35.5% occupancy, which climbed to 50.8% by the evening, and the night shows peaked at a remarkable 66.6%.
Regional Response & Screen Count
The response in major metropolitan cities like Delhi-NCR and Mumbai was particularly strong. Delhi-NCR recorded 60% occupancy across 800 shows, while Mumbai had 43% occupancy in 650 shows. These numbers suggest the film has connected well with urban audiences, setting the stage for an even stronger weekend.

Breaking Records & Outshining Established Stars
When compared to other debutants, Ahaan Panday’s first-day collection stands tall. For instance, Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti (2014) opened with Rs 6.55 crore, while Ananya Panday’s Student of The Year 2 (2019) managed Rs 12.06 crore.
Interestingly, Saiyaara also outperformed recent films of established stars:
- Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 – Rs 19.25 crore on opening day.
- Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par – Rs 10.7 crore.
- Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force – Rs 12.25 crore.
What’s Next for Saiyaara?
Director Mohit Suri, known for hits like Aashiqui 2 and Malang, has once again proven his knack for blending music and emotions into mainstream cinema. If the word-of-mouth remains strong, Saiyaara could easily cross the Rs 60-70 crore mark in its opening weekend, setting Ahaan and Aneet on a promising path.
Industry Buzz & Future Box Office
Industry experts are already calling Saiyaara a potential game-changer for 2025, thanks to its relatable story, strong soundtrack, and youthful energy. Trade analysts predict that the film could surpass Housefull 5’s lifetime collections if the trend continues.
