After the terrorist attack on Tuesday (April 22) in Pahalgam, Kashmir, the atmosphere against Pakistani artists has become hot on social media. Fawad Khan’s return film ‘Abir Gulal’ is at the center of this controversy. Vani Kapoor and Riddhi Dogra are also among the important roles in this film. It is to be released on 9 May.

Let me tell you, 26 people died in the attack and many people were injured. After this, there was a demand to boycott the film on social media. #Boycottvaanikapoor also started trending.

Riddhi Dogra replied – ‘There is anger, but peace is also important’

Riddhi Dogra condemned the attack on X (first Twitter), but some users trolled her saying that she is working in the same film that has Pakistani actor Fawad Khan.

Riddhi wrote in response, ‘We live in a civilized society, where everyone is welcome. But if needed, we can also close the doors.

In another post, he made it clear, ‘I worked with Fawad when the government allowed it. I respect the law. Yes, I am also angry, but I always talk with dignity. ‘

He also added, ‘I am an artist, it does not mean that I remain silent. I am also sad, but my endeavor is to talk with peace and respect. ‘

Diya Mirza gave clarification – ‘My statement is old, now being dragged’

An old interview of Dia Mirza has gone viral in which she welcomed Fawad Khan’s return. This statement was made on 10 April, but now it is being shared after the terrorist attack.

Diya wrote on Instagram, ‘I gave this interview on 10 April. There was no attack at that time. Now it is wrong and very insensitive.

In that interview, he said, ‘Art should not be associated with hatred. I am glad that Fawad is returning. Such works increase peace and friendship.

Fwice Strict stand of , No Pakistani artist will run in the industry

The Film Industry Union Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) also issued a strict statement.

He said, ‘We have already banned any kind of cooperation with Pakistani artists, singers and technicians. If someone violates it, then action will be taken on him.

FWICE also said that they will try to stop the release of the film ‘Abir Gulal’ in India.

Aicwa Done ,Abir Gulal, Demand for ban on

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately and always ban Pakistani actor #Fawadkhan’s film ‘Abir Gulal’.

This demand has been raised after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025, killing 26 innocent Indians.

AICWA says that the release of the film with the Pakistani actor at such a time is not an art, but insulting our martyrs and an attack on the sentiments of the country. If Pakistan banns Indian films, then why should we promote Pakistani artists on Indian screen?

Aicwa has appealed to the Indian film industry not to support Pakistani artists in future.

2016 Memories of fresh again

The controversy reminds of the uproar that has arisen before the release of 2016 ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Even then there was a protest against the presence of Fawad Khan after the Uri attack. Now the same atmosphere is being created with ‘Abir Gulal’ again.
