1. DRDO conducted successful testing of scumjet engine
DRDO achieved a huge position in hypersonic weapon technology on Friday 25 April. Defense Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) Hyderabad conducted a ground test of active cooled scumjet sub-scale combuster for more than 1,000 seconds. The test was conducted at DRDO’s State of Art Advance Center (Scramjet Connect Test Facility).
It is an air breathing engine. It is used in hypersonic cruise missiles. Air breathing engine means that ordinary wind is being filled in it. Earlier in January 2025, the same engine had a successful 120 second test.
After this 1,000 second test, this system is considered ready for full-scale flight.
2. Draupadi Murmu will visit Shimla from May 5-9
President Draupadi Murmu will reach Shimla from May 5-9. This meeting will also include top officials of the President’s Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs, State Government. IIT Mandi is going to organize a grand event on completing 15 years outstanding journey in its educational, research and innovation. President Draupadi Murmu will include it as the chief guest. The theme of this event has been kept at 15 years-CFA 2025 of the theme achievements.
The President will attend the program held at the Army Training Command Article, Shimla on 6 May. On May 7, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) will visit Mandi and Atal Tunnel on 8 May.
Draupadi will stay in the historical heritage of Murmu Retreat. His family will also come to Shimla along with Murmu.

Bihar Technical Services Commission (BTSC) has recruited 11,389 posts of Staff Nurse. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website btsc.bihar.gov.in.

- Registration required in State Nursing Council

2. Recruitment of 2,300 posts of Patwari in Gujarat started
Short notification for recruitment for the posts of Revenue Talati (Class-3) has been released in Gujarat. The application process for this recruitment will start soon. After the application starts, the candidates will be able to apply by visiting the official website gsssb.gujarat.gov.in.

PM Modi attended 1.15th employment fair through conferencing
Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 15th employment fair through video conferencing at 11 am on Saturday. He distributed job letters to more than 51,000 youth in different departments of the central government.
Addressing the program, Modi said- It is a time of opportunities for the youth. The government is taking several steps to ensure that employment and self -employment opportunities in the country are increasing. Employment fair was organized at 47 places across the country.
The Prime Minister started the first phase of the employment fair on 22 October 2022.
2. NEET Aspirant suicide before the exam in Kota
NEET Aspirant Roshan, studying in Kota, committed suicide on Thursday 24 April. The NEET exam is scheduled to be held on 4 May and this suicide took place exactly a week ago.
According to Roshan’s parents, on April 22, when he came to take Roshan home, he refused to go home and said that he would not give NEET this year. Roshan’s father is a carpenter and Roshan was preparing for NEET for the last three years. Her parents say that her coaching tests used to get numbers up to 550-600. Don’t know why he did this again. Since January 2025, it is 12th suicide in Kota. Roshan died of eating some poisonous substance and his body was found on track.
