Russia expelled three Moldovan diplomats on Friday in retaliation for Moldova’s recent expulsion of Russian embassy officials. Moldova’s pro-EU government accused Moscow of aiding pro-Russian lawmaker Alexandr Nesterovschi in fleeing to the breakaway region of Transnistria before his sentencing. Nesterovschi was sentenced to 12 years in prison for corruption and illegal funding. Russia denied interfering in Moldova’s affairs and rejected the accusations. Watch
