Statements of leaders on incident …
Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan Sapkal: The law and order of the state is in the hands of CM Devendra Fadnavis. The Ministry of Home Affairs is responsible to him. It is very disturbing that a young woman was raped in the state bus. The Home Minister is only engaged in protecting corrupt officials, and the question of safety of women in the state has been revealed again.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut: This incident is similar to the ‘Nirbhaya incident’ of Delhi. The government is still silent. The person who has taken responsibility for ‘Ladli Bahna’ is silent. Where is Pune’s Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar. Pune is a cultural capital. There is hooliganism. What is the government doing? The government should answer.
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar: The event is shameful, condemnable and painful. Instructions have been given to the Minister of Women and Child Development and the Chairman of the State Women’s Commission to provide justice and all possible help to the victim.
