Police recruitment 2025: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that the state government will soon fill more than 12,000 vacant posts in the police department. Majhi made the announcement on Wednesday after returning from Delhi, where he met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and hosted the two -day investor conference.
20 new cyber police stations will be built
The Chief Minister said that the meeting with Shah was discussed in the state to implement the Indian Justice Code (BNS), Indian Civil Protection Code (BNSS) and Indian Evidence Act (BNA) in the state. He also said that there was a discussion about the increasing cases of cyber crime in the meeting. He told Shah that 20 new cyber police stations will be set up in the state to deal with this danger and the post of Crime Scene Officer will be created in all the police stations.
How much will be recruited in which department?
Majhi said that the Home Minister has assured the state government to give all possible support to maintain law and order. He informed that the state government will soon fill 12,000 vacant posts in the Home Department, which will help in maintaining law and order in the state. According to the Chief Minister, 3,003 of these posts will be filled in Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF), 3,000 posts in Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), 2,000 traffic personnel, 5,000 home guards, 267 in the Directorate of Public Prosecution and 254 posts will be filled in State Forensic Sciences Department.
95 thousand people likely to get employment
This announcement has been made at a time when the opposition is attacking the government over the increasing crime against women after the BJP came to power in Odisha in June last year. It is alleged that the law and order situation in the state is continuously deteriorating. At the investor conference held in Delhi, the state government signed 13 consent letters and received 15 investment proposals of Rs 1.03 lakh crore, which is likely to provide employment to more than 95,000 people.
