PM Modi met Mohammad Yunus during the BIMSTEC summit, know what issue happened

PM Modi Meet Muhammad Yunus: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Bangladesh Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus on Friday (April 4) during the BIMSTEC summit in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. This is the first meeting of PM Modi and Mohammad Yunus after Sheikh Hasina’s coup. On 5 August 2024 last year, Sheikh Hasina left Bangladesh and came to India, since then the relations between the two countries have not been normal. However, this bilateral meeting is taking place at a time when Dhaka requested a bilateral meeting during the BIMSTEC summit to resolve the differences.

Earlier, a PTI report said that Prime Minister Modi could meet Younis, although the Ministry of External Affairs did not comment on the proposed meeting. On Thursday (April 3), the Prime Minister and Yunus sat together in the dinner organized during the BIMSTEC summit, which became a matter of discussion. The tension in bilateral relations has increased further after the comments made by Yunus on the northeastern states of India while attending the annual conference of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in China. However, after that the meeting of top leaders of both countries has created a stir.

40 minutes of meeting
This was India’s first high level meeting with the interim government of Bangladesh after former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina taking shelter in India, which is now over. This meeting lasted for 40 minutes, in which several important issues were discussed. Let me tell you that the former Prime Minister had fled from Bangladesh after a large -scale protests led by the students, who overthrew the 16 -year government of his Awami League. Yunus has claimed that Dhaka sent formal letters to India demanding Hasina’s extradition to face a legal trial, but did not receive any official response from New Delhi.
