Actor-producer and director Manoj Kumar is no longer among us. He died on 4 April. His cousin Manish Goswami recently shared an anecdote related to the film ‘Kranti’ during an interview. He told that Parveen Bobby had given 66 retakes for a shot of the film. The shooting of the film was going on till 2 pm, yet Manoj Kumar did not lose his temper and kept shooting.

Manish Goswami spoke openly about Manoj Kumar being a perfectionist in an interview to Vicky Lalwani. Manish Goswami said- Manoj Kumar never compromised for anything. Even if 30-40 or 50 retakes were needed for a scene, they were ready for it.
While sharing an anecdote related to the film ‘Kranti’, Manish Goswami said that Parveen Bobby had given 66 retakes for a shot of the film. Manish said- We were shooting in a palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The film was a shot, in which Parveen Bobby had to raise her hand on the wall and say ‘Kranti Zindabad’, but for some reason she was unable to do as Manoj Kumar wanted the shot. He took 66 retakes and took OK shot at 2 pm. Despite such a retake, there was never a moment when the film Manoj Kumar has lost his temper. He was always calm, but he had great firm belief.

Manish Goswami, while referring to the atmosphere of the set of Manoj Kumar’s film, said- If Manoj Kumar tied a handkerchief on the forehead, it meant that he was under pressure. When he tied a handkerchief on his forehead, it meant that no one of the unit would ask him about the packup. Of course, most of the shoots were from the scheduled time.

Manish Goswami also told that Manoj Kumar was very punctual in time. He said- Manoj Kumar was very strict for the ban of time, but he knew one way to handle these things. In the shift of 9 am which used to come from time. They used to leave him in time, but if someone used to come in the shift of 9 in the morning at 12 noon, then he used to ask him to go. When he felt right.
