The BJP demanded an apology for the statement. However, Ramjilal Suman has refused to apologize for the statement. Rajya Sabha proceedings were postponed till 12 noon due to uproar.

Immigration bill introduced, 5 years jailed on entry in India without legitimate passport In order to organize the movement of foreign nationals coming to India, the Immigration and Foreigners Bill-2025 was introduced in the Lok Sabha.
According to this bill, if a person illegally brings, stays or settled a foreigner to the country, he can be imprisoned for 3 years or a fine of Rs 2 to 5 lakhs or both.
Any foreigner will have a ‘legitimate passport and visa’ mandatory to come to India. The opposition opposed this bill in the Lok Sabha.
