Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif Officials Decide to Eliminate Terrorists from Violence Hit Kurram District Afghanistan Border

Pakistan News: The government of Pakistan’s northwest province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to launch a campaign to free Kurram district of the province from terrorists in view of continuous attacks on security forces and assistance convoys. Official sources said on Wednesday (19 February 2025) that the residents of Ochhat, Dad Qamar, Manduri and Bagan have been asked to vacate their area, after which the campaign will start.

He informed that the government has also decided to fix the prize money against the people involved in unrest and their leader. He informed that due to the recent attacks in Kurram district, the distribution of compensation checks has also been stopped. On February 17, unidentified terrorists attacked a paramilitary force squad in Pakistan’s violence affected Kurram, in which four forces were killed and five others were injured. A support convoy was also targeted in Kurram.

Terrorist attacks increased in Kurram district

There have been terrorist attacks many times in the last few days in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The convoy of trucks carrying relief material in Kurram district was attacked on Monday (17 February 2025). In this, a driver and 3 security officer were killed. In recent months, at least 130 people have died in clashes between Shia and Sunni tribes.

On Wednesday (19 February 2025) in Pakistan’s disturbed Balochistan province, unidentified gunmen killed at least seven passengers aboard a bus. The gunmen targeted the passenger bus going from the provincial capital Quetta to Punjab province when she was passing through the Barkhan area. According to the police, the gunmen stopped the bus by putting a blocker on the national highway, examined the identity cards of the passengers in it and forcibly took the seven people to the nearby hill, after which the sound of bullets began to be heard shortly after.
