Junior officers of the Pakistani Army have burnt the bugle against Army Chief Asim Munir. He has openly demanded resignation from them. The officers have warned the infinite Munir to either resign or be ready to bear the consequences.
According to the report of News18, junior officers have written a letter demanding resignation. Munir was accused of converting the army into political harassment and personal vengeance. The letter, allegedly written by Colonel, Major, Captain and Jawans, states that Munir’s leadership has pushed Pakistan into the abyss like 1971, when the country had to face a devastating defeat and Bangladesh was built.
What is written in the letter of junior officers?
The letter states, “This is not a plea. It is not an agreement. This is your 1971, General and we will not let you be buried in its shadow.” The officials have accused Munir of suppressing political disagreement, silenceing journalists and destroying the army’s reputation through crushing democratic forces. The letter also mentions the action taken after the removal of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan and the disturbances in the 2024 elections.
‘Two resigns as soon as possible’
The letter reads, “This is the voice of the Pakistani armed forces. Colonel, Major, Captain and Jawan, who have seen you pushing you our institute, our nation and our honor into the trough. Your time is over. Your time is over. Resign as soon as possible or we will take back what you have stolen,
Top intelligence sources have confirmed this letter and described it as a crisis of existence not only the rebellion but also for Pakistan’s most powerful institution. The letter warns that if Munir does not leave the post, the army will take action itself.
