Taking an important decision, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has allowed 150 trucks going from Afghanistan to cross the Wagah border. This decision has been taken at the request of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Islamabad. However, now there is doubt that India

The official letter issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry states that these Afghan trucks entered Pakistan before 25 April 2025 and were stuck on various transit points in the country. These trucks are filled with goods which are being taken to India in transit.

Decision on brotherhood with Afghanistan
The Pakistan government has taken this decision in view of “brotherhood relations” with Afghanistan. The list of 150 trucks provided by the Afghan Embassy has been sent to the concerned authorities. If any other truck is trapped, then their information has also been asked to share soon, so that they too can be allowed to go to the Wagah limit.
Decision not taken by India
Right now no decision has been taken by India regarding this. There is a doubt that Pakistan will be ready to send them beyond Wagah, but whether it will be received on ICP on the attic border of India.

Order of closed after Pahalgam attack
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian government announced the immediate closure of the Attari Integrated Check Post (ICP) for trade. This ICP used to trade not only from Pakistan but also from Afghanistan.
But now when India took strict steps, it affected trade from Pakistan as well as Afghanistan. Trucks sent to Afghanistan were stopped in Pakistan. Not only this, now Pakistan has also stopped Afghanistan trucks from using Pakistani routes. Which is also going to be an impact on the trade of India-Afghanistan.

Attari is located just 28 km from Amritsar and is the first ground port in India. It is also the only valid ground route of trade with Pakistan. This check post is spread over 120 acres and is directly connected to National Highway-1. It is also an important route for goods coming from Afghanistan.
3800 crore trade in 2023-24
During the year 2023-24, a trade of ₹ 3,886.53 crore was recorded from Attari Land Port. This route caused 6,871 cargo movement crossings. It is clear that when Pakistan does not give way, it will also affect the trade between India and Afghanistan.
