CM Yogi Adityanath said these things in Lucknow on Monday. The Chief Minister made it clear that if the country has to pursue at a fast pace, then changes in the electoral system are necessary. He said, conducting elections every year does not only increase political activities, but it stops the pace of development plans.
CM Yogi attended the state level conference on ‘One Nation, One Election’ at Indira Gandhi Foundation in Lucknow.
GDP gets a shock, spending 3.5-4 lakh crores Yogi said, repeated elections affect the GDP of the country by about 1.5%, which turns into expenditure ranging from 3.5 to 4 lakh crore rupees. This amount is more than the total annual budget of many states.
Elections used to be held from 1952 to 1967, now time to return again
CM Yogi said, Lok Sabha and assembly elections were held simultaneously in the country from 1952 to 1967. Even today this experiment is being done in some states. Now the time has come to make it permanent.

By 2034, we will have to prepare the public from now on holding elections simultaneously across the country.
‘One Nation, One Election’ has to be made mass movement The Chief Minister said, “This is not just a political discussion, it is an issue of national interest.” One Nation, One Election ‘should not be an idea now, there should be a mission.
