Once Millions of Hindus in Afghanistan Know how many are left after the Arrival of the Taliban Government

Hindu-Sikh Population in Afghanistan: The land which used to be the house of Hindus and then Sikhs at the time of Indus Valley Civilization, more than 3000 years before today, today is more than 99.7% Muslim population and a staunch terrorist organization Taliban is going on. This is from Afghanistan, where since the Taliban came to power, minority communities like Hindu and Sikh have been targeted. This is the reason that the number of these minorities there is continuously decreasing.

Afghanistan was once a country where different languages, religion, cultures and castes lived together. This country was known for its diversity and mutual brotherhood. But ever since the Taliban came and continued to fight in the country, all this gradually ended.

The population of Hindus and Sikhs is continuously decreasing

The population of Hindu and Sikh people in Afghanistan has reduced greatly. At the time of 1970, there lived about 7 lakh Hindus and Sikhs, but in the 1980s, their number decreased to only 2 to 3 lakhs. A report by Tolo News states that in the last 30 years, about 99% of Hindus and Sikhs have left Afghanistan. When Mujahideen came to power in the 1990s and the war was going on, their number was only 15,000. The same condition remained in the Taliban time. It is now believed that only about 1,350 Hindus and Sikhs are left in Afghanistan.

Only one Hindu temple is left

According to reports, there are now only 2 to 4 gurudwaras and the same Hindu temple left in Afghanistan. Earlier these religious places were considered a safe place for the Hindu and Sikh community. But now the situation has become so bad that people have made these temples and gurdwaras not only to live in place of worship but also. Due to fear, Hindus and Sikhs now shy away from getting out of the house, so they are living in these religious places.

After attacks on these holy places, Afghan Hindus and Sikhs are afraid of their lives every moment. In 2018, a suicide bomber attacked the mob in Jalalabad who was going to meet President Ashraf Ghani. 19 people were killed and 10 people were injured in this attack, including many Hindu and Sikh community leaders.

In March 2020, a Sikh temple in Kabul was attacked for about 6 hours, killing 25 people and 8 injured. These attacks became a topic of discussion around the world and Afghan proved to be patience for Hindu-Sikhs. After this, a large number of people started leaving the country.
