An assistant professor of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) was arrested on Friday for sexually assaulting the student at Silchar, Assam. The accused teacher has been identified as Koteshwar Raju Dhenukonda.

The student told,

Then he played porn songs in front of me in his computer. Touched my stomach and rubbed my stomach. I started crying but she did not stop. He told me to sit with the feet. After this he caught my neck from behind. ‘
The aggrieved student said that he escaped after his friend’s call, who was waiting outside the cabin.

All necessary assistance is being provided to the victim, so that he feels safe and comfortable. The case has been sent to the International Complaint Committee (ICC) of the institute for investigation.
The accused professor misled the police SP Numal Mahatta of Cachar said that when the police went to catch the accused professor, he tried to hide himself. The professor closed the quarter’s door from outside, but we discovered the location of his mobile phone and arrested him at around 5.30 pm on Friday evening.
