The new law will replace the 1983 Immigration Act.
The central government is making the rules to go abroad for jobs. The Ministry of External Affairs is making a new law. The draft of the bill will be released soon. It will be introduced in the monsoon session of Parliament after taking opinion from the public and experts. This process has accelerated after the illegal departure of Indians who went to America.
The new law will replace the 1983 Immigration Act. It will be named Immigration, Overseas Mobility, Facilitation and Welfare Bill. Apart from the job, problems and issues of people going abroad for studies and business are also included.
In this, illegal activities of recruitment agencies will be placed in the category of crime. Now there will be no action like cancellation of registration or black listing. There will be a provision of punishment of 5 to 10 years and a fine of 1 to 10 lakh rupees for trapping Indians by pretending to be a job abroad.

The chain was tied to the legs of those who depited India from America.
3094 non -registered agents in the country by 2024
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 3094 non -registered agents were identified in the country by October 2024. Declaration can be made mandatory for those going abroad for jobs. With this, the correct figure of the number of Indians abroad will be kept.
The old law did not include issues of studying abroad. In the new bill, action will also be taken on such agents, who send students abroad by making false promises. To make the bill strong, opinion will be taken from the states from where a large number of people go abroad for jobs. Drafts will also be sent to organizations working among the dynasties.
Why are the new bills important? At present, three and a half crore Indians are spread across the world. Of these, 1.58 crore are NRIs, while 1.97 crore are people of Indian origin. The US had recently subjected Indians who have arrived illegally reaching them illegally in fetters.
It is believed that after America, immigration law can be strict in other countries as well. In such a situation, the Government of India must prepare a transparent and safe system of immigration, so that some kind of embarrassment and problems faced by citizens in future can be avoided.
