- Ramji Lal Suman is the national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party.
- Born on 25 July 1950 in Bahradoi village of Sadabad area of Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh, Suman is currently a Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh.
- At the age of just 26, he was elected MP from Firozabad Lok Sabha seat on Janata Party ticket.
- In 1989, the Janata Dal won the Firozabad seat.
- In 1991, he was Union Minister of State for Ministries like Labor, Welfare, Women Welfare and Child Development in the Chandrashekhar government.
- After the formation of the Samajwadi Party in 1992, he became a close aide of Mulayam Singh Yadav and has been holding the post of National General Secretary of SP since 1996.
- Won Lok Sabha elections from Firozabad on SP ticket in 1999 and 2004.
- In 2014, he contested from Hathras seat, but lost.
