India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is registering his name in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). In the 41st match of IPL 2025 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Bumrah achieved another notable achievement, with Lasith Malinga’s long -standing record of taking the most wickets for Mumbai Indians (MI).
Bumrah, which has been backing to the bowling attack of Mumbai Indians for almost a decade, achieved this feat on the final ball of his spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad, when he dismissed dangerous Henrik Klassen. This was Bumrah’s only wicket in the match. But this wicket proved to be historic. Bumrah took 170 wickets for Mumbai Indians and equaled veteran Malinga.
The match was Bumrah’s 138th IPL match for Mumbai. This season, Mumbai adopted the rotation policy with their bowlers. The team took advantage of Bumrah’s bowling skills regularly.
After Bumrah and Malinga, Harbhajan Singh is ranked third in Mumbai’s list of all -time wickets with 127 wickets, while Michelle McLenaghan (71) and Kieron Pollard (69) are among the top five.
Thanks to this record of Bumrah, he has reached eighth position in the list of bowlers taking the most wickets in IPL history.
