Mohali born in lower middle class family Ashwini Kumar was born on 29 August 2001 in a lower middle class family. His family had no connection with cricket. Ashwini has been fond of cricket since childhood and started with street cricket just like other children.

Before taking coaching, he kept throwing balls only in the streets, because since childhood he enjoyed bowling more than batting. After this, he showed seriousness towards cricket and made up his mind to take coaching.

The coach told- I asked where to be from. He told that from the village of Jhanjhedi, the village of Mohali. I said that Jhanjhedi is 20-25 km away. How will you come? He said I have to learn cricket. Whatever happens, I will reach here every day. On this I could not refuse him and he started coming to the daily. He used to come by bicycle and does not remember that he had missed the practice.

Playing under-19 in Mohali’s team, he impressed the selection committee with his bowling. After this, the Punjab Cricket Association came into the eyes.
