Tamil Nadu CM Stalin said in the meeting- We should form a joint action committee (JAC). It will create awareness among the people and convey its point to the center.
On Saturday, the Chief Ministers and Deputy CM of 5 states met in Chennai for delimitation of Lok Sabha seats in the states. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin called the meeting, which included 14 leaders from 5 states. BJD chief Naveen Patnaik and TMC also joined it.
Tamil Nadu CM Stalin said in the meeting- We have to remain united on the issue of delimitation. Our representation in Parliament should not be reduced. Stalin said that we should form a Joint Action Committee (JAC). It will create awareness among the people and convey its point to the center.
Stalin Said- We need to create expert panels to consider legal aspects. We also have to consider legal aspects to carry forward this political fight. Everyone’s suggestions should be included for this. We are not against delimitation, we are in favor of fair delimitation.
Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan The meeting said in the meeting- the delimitation of the Lok Sabha seats is hanging like a sword. The BJP government is proceeding without any consultation on this matter. The cuts in the south seats and the increase in the north will be beneficial for the BJP. They have influence in the answer.
In the meeting, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Karnataka’s Deputy CM DK Shivkumar and former Chief Minister K.K. Chandrasekhar Rao joined.

The meeting was attended by CM MK Stalin of Tamil Nadu, CM Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala, Revant Reddy of Telangana, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, besides Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivkumar, former Chief Minister of Telangana. Many leaders including Chandrashekhar Rao, Odisha Congress President Bhakta Charan Das and Biju Janata Dal leader Sanjay Kumar Das Burma attended.
Pre-Andhra CM’s appeal to PM- not reduced seats
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Appealing to the PM, Jagan wrote- The delimitation process in such a way that no state should decrease in representation in the Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha, especially in the case of the total number of seats in the House.
Tamil Nadu BJP showed black flags
Tamil Nadu BJP President’s Annamalai and other party leaders opposed the meeting held on delimitation. During this, he showed black flags to Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar.
Annamalai said- In the last 4 years after the DMK came to power, Tamil Nadu’s interests have been continuously sacrificed for political gains. CM never went to talk to Kerala and resolve issues, but today he invited the CM of Kerala to talk on an artificial issue. We condemn the CM of Tamil Nadu.
On March 3, Stalin wrote a letter to the existing and former Chief Ministers
MK Stalin wrote a letter to the current and former Chief Ministers of other states in the delimitation case. In this, he requested to send his representatives in the first meeting of JAC to be held on 22 March.
Stalin wrote- The delimitation can be done in two ways based on the population of 2026. The first 543 seats of the current Lok Sabha can be divided among the states. At the same time, the number of seats in the second can increase to more than 800. The states controlling population in both situations will suffer losses.
The basis of delimitation should be 1971 census In the all -party meeting, Stalin had said that if the seats in Parliament increase, the 1971 census should be made the basis. He also demanded- after 2026, the 1971 census should be considered as standard while doing the boundary of Lok Sabha seats for the next 30 years.

Know everything about delimitation …
What is delimitation The process of deciding the boundary of Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in a new way is called delimitation. A commission is formed for this. Commissions have been set up in 1952, 1963, 1973 and 2002 for delimitation. The last time was delimited in 2008 under the delimitation Commission Act, 2002.
The delimitation process regarding Lok Sabha seats can start from 2026. This can increase about 78 seats in the 2029 election. The southern states are opposing population -based delimitation. Because of this, the government is considering proportional delimitation.
Proportional delimitation What is Uttar Pradesh has 80 Lok Sabha seats. At the same time, there are half the seats in Tamil Nadu-Puducherry. If 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh increase, then it is a proportional representation to increase half of it in Tamil Nadu-Puducherry.
The seats will increase in the population control states in the same proportion on the basis of population. There will be an MP in a population of 20 lakh in a state seat of Hindi belt, while in the southern state there will be an MP on a population of 10-12 lakhs.
What will happen to minority dominated seats In the 85 Lok Sabha seats of the country, the population of minorities ranges from 20%to 97%. According to sources, the Lok Sabha constituencies can be drained afresh under delimitation to maintain population balance on these seats.
What will happen after women reservation The number of Lok Sabha seats has been freeze since 1976, but now women will have to be defeated to give 33 percent reservation. The population control states have warned that their seats will be opposed on this basis.
