Actor Manoj Kumar died on Friday morning at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. He was 87 years old. He was particularly known for his patriotic films. He was also known as Bharat Kumar. Upkar, East-West, Revolution, Roti-Campra and House were his very successful films.

Manoj Kumar’s son Kunal Goswami told ANI, ‘He had health problems for a long time. It is the grace of God that he did not have much trouble at the last moment, peacefully he said goodbye to this world. His funeral will take place tomorrow.

Manoj Kumar had been struggling with the decomponed liver cirrhosis for a long time. He was admitted to the hospital on 21 February 2025 after his condition deteriorated.

Manoj Kumar received 7 Filmfare Awards. The first film Fair was found in 1968 for the film Upkar. Upkar won four film fairs for Best Film, Best Director, Best Story and Best Dialogue. In 1992, he was awarded the Padma Shri. In 2016, he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

Manoj Kumar’s real name was Harikrishna Goswami. He was born on 24 July 1937 in Abbottabad, British India (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan). Abbottabad is the same place where the US killed Osama bin Laden on 2 May 2011. When Manoj Kumar was 10 years old, his younger brother Kukku was born in 1947. When the health deteriorated, the 2 -month -old brother and mother were admitted to the hospital when the riots erupted. There was chaos everywhere and the staff of the hospital started running away after saving his life.

As soon as the siren rang, the doctors and nurses who were left used to go underground. In such a situation, Manoj Kumar’s 2 -month -old brother died in the hospital due to lack of proper treatment. The mother’s condition was also serious at that time. She used to scream in trouble, but no doctor or nurse used to treat them. One day, seeing all this, Manoj was so angry that he picked up the sticks and started beating the doctors and nurses in the underground. Manoj was only 10 years old then, but her mother’s suffering was not being seen. The father controlled him and the family decided to leave Pakistan to save his life.

His family migrated to Jandiala Sher Khan and reached Delhi. Here he spent 2 months at Refugee Camp. Time passed and riots started decreasing. The whole family resided in Delhi, where Manoj could be studied. He completed graduation from Hindu College after school and started searching for a job.

One day Manoj Kumar bought a capital train ticket to go to Delhi from Mumbai and boarded the train. While sitting in the train, he wrote half the film and returning half. With this film, he started the second innings of his career as a director. Further, he made many films on patriotism like East and West, Roti Cloth and House.

The film gives Bharat Kumar name to Manoj Kumar The favor was the biggest film of 1967. The song of the film Mere Desh Ki Dharti Sona Ugle .. Even today, the best patriotic songs are counted. Manoj Kumar’s name in the film was Bharat. Seeing the popularity of the song of the film, Manoj Kumar started calling India India and then he came to be called Bharat Kumar.
