Hundreds of people have been injured in a clash between security forces and protesters.

Violence erupted as soon as free traffic movement started in Cookie and Maetai dominated areas in Manipur. As soon as buses started running on the roads connecting Imphal, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Vishnupur and commander, people of the cookie community started opposing it.

During this time, the protesters laid stones on the roads to stop movement. Buses, cars set fire. To stop the violence people, the security forces lathi -charged and fired teargas shells. Hundreds of people have been injured in a clash between security forces and protesters.

Government buses going to Imphal, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Vishnupur and commander areas are being run under the protection of CRPF and local police. Apart from this, security forces have been deployed in the areas with red zone.

Amit Shah announced a free movement On March 1, Home Minister Amit Shah held a review meeting in the Ministry of Home Affairs on the situation in Manipur. From March 8, the Home Minister had asked to ensure unruly movement on all roads in Manipur. At the same time, instructions were given to take strict action against those who blocked the roads.

Chief Secretary said- General situation will be restored Manipur Chief Secretary PK Singh said that we are all trying to restore general situation in the state. Helicopter services between Rajdhani Imphal to Churachandpur will start from March 12. He informed that strict action will be taken on any attempt to obstruct public traffic.

CM Biren Singh resigns on 9 February Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh resigned on 9 February. After this, President’s rule was implemented in Manipur on 13 February.
