There has been an encounter between police and Naxalites in Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. Two women Naxalites have been killed in it. The encounter took place at around 6 am on Wednesday in the forest of Mundidadar and Ganheriddar in Bichhiya police station area.

According to the police, one of the killed Naxalites is from Pramila Chhattisgarh and the other from Mamta Maharashtra. A reward of Rs 14-14 lakh was declared on both. Both were Naxalite Area Committee Members.
Of these, Mamta alias Rambai Kanha Bhoramdev is the wife of Rakesh Odi, Commander of the Area Committee. Rakesh has a reward of 28 lakh rupees.
During the search, an SLR, a full gun, wireless set, large quantity of weapons and daily needed goods have been found from the encounter site.

The encounter was done by 20 Naxalites Sanjay Singh, IG of Balaghat Range and Commandant Shiaz of Hakfors said that the number of Naxalites was about 20. The activism of the Naxalites in the area was reported, on the basis of which Hakforce reached the spot and took action. Naxalites started firing on the police, in response to which the police killed two women Naxalites.

A large quantity of weapons and other needs were seized from the encounter site.

The intensive search operation is still going on in the area and the police suspect that some more Naxalites may be injured or killed. During the search after the encounter, a large amount of Naxalite literature, food items, weapons and medicines have been recovered. This Naxalite was a member of Kanha Bhoramdev Dalam.
Four women Naxalites were killed in Balaghat Earlier on February 19, four women Naxalites were killed in an encounter in Garhi police station area of Balaghat. All of them were a member of Kanha Bhoramdev AB Division Khatia Morcha Dalam. One of these was a reward of 14 lakhs on Asha.
