London heathrow airport shutdown: Heathrow Airport in London has announced to shut down air services for a full day on Friday (March 21). This airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. More than 1300 flights have been canceled due to the closure of the airport. The airport has cited the horrific fire in the power substation behind this announcement. In fact, a fierce fire broke out in the power substation on the night of Thursday (March 20), it disrupted the power supply in the entire area.
Meanwhile, Heathro Airport has also discontinued air services for 24 hours on Friday (March 21) and all the flights going to and from the airport have been canceled. Due to which global air travel was affected. At the same time, after this incident, the train service going to the airport has also been suspended.
Airport posted a statement on X
Heathro Airport posted a post on X and said in its statement, “Heathro is facing a huge reduction due to fire in the electric substation that supplies electricity to the airport.” The statement further said, “Keeping in mind the safety of all our passengers and colleagues after this accident, Heathro will remain closed till 23:59 pm on Friday (March 21). Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport and contact Ainlines for any other information. We are sorry for inconvenience.”
Due to a fire at an electrical substation supplying the Airport, Heathrow is experience a significant power outage.

In a statement to CNN, a spokesman for Heathro Airport said, “We are expected to have trouble for several days to come and passengers should not travel to the airport under any circumstances till the airport is reopening.”
The airport told Alajjira, “We are trying to stop passengers from traveling to the airport. Apart from this, we are talking about delayed, diverted and canceled flights with our airline partners. Passengers can contact our airline partners for rebuking.”
Lander Fire Brigade gave information
In the London Fire Brigade, CNN said in its report, “A power substation caught fire on Thursday (March 20) in Hes, located just a few miles away from the airport. This has disrupted power supply in 16,000 houses in the area. However, the cause of the fire has not been known so far.”
Flight tracking website Flyterdar 24 said, “The global air service has been affected due to the closure of the airport. The incident affected around 1351 flights.”
