Pakistan Earthquake: The earth started trembling late in the night in Pakistan. People sleeping in the house started running away due to panic. The intensity on this earthquake was measured at 4.0 on the Richter scale. This earthquake came late at 1.44 pm. At present, there is no news of any kind of damage. The administration is keeping an eye on the situation. Appeal has been made to maintain restraint from the citizens and to contact the concerned authorities in any emergency.
The National Center for Sisamology (NCS) said that today at 01.44 pm (IST), there was a 4.0 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale in Pakistan. According to NCS, the earthquake center was at a depth of 10 km, whose latitude was 29.67 north and longitude 66.10 east. Earlier on May 5, 2025, there was an earthquake of magnitude of 4.2 in Pakistan and the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km, which had a latitude 36.60 north and longitude 72.89.

When did the earthquake come?
Earlier, on April 12, a strong tremor of earthquake was felt in Pakistan. The intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was measured 5.8. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Jammu and Kashmir. It was reported that an earthquake of 5.8 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred at 33.63 degrees northern latitudes and 72.46 degree longitude at around 1 pm on April 12.
Earthquake caused havoc
It is noteworthy that the earthquake in Pakistan has caused a lot of havoc. On October 8, 2005, at 8.50 am, a 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred on the Richter scale, which was in Muzaffarabad in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK). It killed more than 80,000 people on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC). Shocks were also felt in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, India and Zinjiang region. It was the fifth most deadly natural disaster of the decade.
The official number of people who died in this earthquake in Pakistan was between 73,276 to 87,350, while according to some estimates the death toll was more than 1,00,000. 1,360 people were killed in India, while 6,266 people were injured. Four people died in Afghanistan. In the 2005 earthquake, three and a half million people became homeless, around 1,38,000 people were injured.
