Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let )’s most wanted terrorist Abu Katal was killed in Pakistan on Saturday night. In Punjab district, unknown attackers shot and killed him.
Abu Katal was close to Hafiz Saeed, the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Katal was an important member of Lett and was known for plotting several attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
On 9 June last year, Katal was also involved in the attack on the bus of pilgrims returning from the Shivkhodi temple in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. In this, 10 people died.

Hafiz Saeed’s death also came, denied
There are also reports on social media that terrorist Hafiz Saeed has also been killed in this attack. Many social media users wrote that when Abu Katal was passing through the Jhelum area in his car, the bikers opened fire on the car. Abu Katal was killed in this attack, while Hafiz Saeed was injured in the car. Later he also lost his life. However, these claims have been denied.
Open on bus in Reasi
The terrorists fired an open fire on the bus going from Shiv Khodi to Katra, injuring the driver and lost control of the bus. Due to this, the bus fell into the ditch. 10 people died on the spot, while 33 people were injured.

NIA named Katal in the Rajouri attack
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) included Abu Katal in its charge sheet in the 2023 Rajouri attack.
On 1 January 2023, ordinary citizens were targeted in a terrorist attack in Dhangri village of Rajouri district.
The next day, an IED explosion also occurred. Seven people died in these attacks, including two children, while many others were seriously injured.
The NIA had filed a charge sheet against five accused in the case, including three more terrorists from Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The three terrorists whose names are in the NIA charge sheet were- Abu Katal, Saifullah alias Sajid Jatt (also known by many other names including Ali, Habibullah and Noman) and Mohammad Qasim.
Abu Katal and Sajid Jatt were Pakistani citizens, while Mohammad Qasim was Indian and moved to Pakistan around 2002. Going there, he joined Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The NIA investigation revealed that these three were given the responsibility to recruit Pakistani terrorists in Lashkar-e-Taiba and deploy them to carry out terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir.
