Editing and Pacing
Editing by Marthand K. Venkatesh keeps the narrative tight for the most part. The film is around 2 hours and 35 minutes long, and while a few scenes in the second half could’ve been trimmed, the emotional payoff in the finale justifies the buildup.
Performances
- Dhanush delivers a powerhouse performance. His portrayal of a man torn between duty and emotion is nuanced and deeply compelling. He balances the character’s vulnerability and strength with remarkable finesse.
- Akkineni Nagarjuna brings a composed intensity to his role. His layered performance as Arjun Varma adds depth and gravitas to the film, especially in the second half.

Music by Devi Sri Prasad is another highlight. The background score elevates the tension in key scenes, while the songs — especially the haunting theme “Nijamaina Neethi” — linger after the film ends. The music enhances, never distracts.
Direction and Screenplay
Sekhar Kammula, known for his sensitive and socially driven storytelling, steps into the thriller genre with Kuberaa — and does so with confidence. He skillfully blends emotional drama with edge-of-the-seat suspense, avoiding clichés. The screenplay is tight in the first half, and while the second half slows briefly, the climax delivers a strong emotional punch.
