A fashion show was held on 8 March in Gulmarg, Kashmir. The outdoor fashion show was organized by fashion designer pair Shivan and Naresh. It is alleged that many half -hearted models walked the ramp on ice in the show. Its pictures went viral on social media. Seeing the video and photos, the local people accused them of hurting religious sentiments. People say how the government can allow such fashion shows to be organized in Ramadan.

There was a lot of uproar in the Jammu Legislative Assembly over the show and the killings of citizens in Kathua’s Bilawar. NC and Congress MLAs also demanded a discussion on these incidents.

In view of the case, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has ordered an inquiry into the fashion show which has been accused of hurting social sentiments. Omar Abdullah condemned the incident, saying, “Whatever I saw should not have been held at any time and especially in the month of Ramadan.”

Omar Abdullah said- Fashion show was organized by private parties

Omar Abdullah also clarified that the event was organized by private parties and there was no government invoice in it. He said, “It was a private party and no government permission was taken in it. If any law has been violated, we will take strict action.”

Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh said- such an incident during Ramadan shameful

State leaders also reacted to this after the fashion show. Jammu and Kashmir Awami Ittehad Party MLA Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh described this event as a direct attack on the culture of the state. They said,

Such an incident is shameful during Ramadan, it is a direct attack on our culture. We strongly condemn this and demand strict action from the Chief Minister.

Tanveer Sadiq said- Half naked show is unacceptable

Jammu and Kashmir National Conference MLA Tanveer Sadiq said, “It should not have been the show. Jammu and Kashmir is the land of Sufi saints, the half naked show is unacceptable. The Chief Minister has taken cognizance of this incident and has asked for a report. They have assured strict action.”

Balwant Singh Mankotia said- some people want to spoil peace in Jammu and Kashmir

BJP MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia also made a statement on the issue. They said,

Chief Minister expressed concern over the killing of three civilians in Bilawar

Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah also expressed concern over the killing of three civilians in Bilawar in Kathua district. He said, “What has happened in Bilawar is under investigation. But this matter is being linked to politics, it is not right.”

Omar Abdullah said that the decision to stop the deputy CM from entering the area was wrong.

The Chief Minister also commented that the deputy CM was stopped from going to the Bilawar area. He said, Deputy CM also wanted to go there but he was refused. They called me and I forbade them to go. Omar Abdullah also questioned why opposition leader Sunil Sharma was then allowed to go there.
