One of my basic uniforms is jeans and a white shirt. Depending on weather, it can be worn year round with a swap of accessories making it seasonally relevant. I’m opting for a raffia bag that has no business being at the beach and a pair of leather flip flops for a spring uniform update.
I love my BV Andiamo, and have already considered buying in another color, but never pulled the trigger. The raffia version could be the one. I also like the Ferragamo Studio and Hug bags. You see the trend here. These bags are structured and proper enough to go beyond wearing with a pair of jeans. They’ll look equally stylish with more dressed up options and don’t give off a summer vacation vibe. Fine when you’re on vacation, or headed to the beach, but I have raffia totes for that. I want a more refined bag and love the contrast of luxury details with the casualness of raffia. These three styles in particular are like sisters to their all leather counterparts. I also like how the hardware is the defining logo, nothing more.
Flip flops are very on trend right now. I’ve been staring at so many options, I’m suffering from paralysis analysis. I’m glad I waited because once I saw the Emme Parsons Meta in ivory leather, I was sold. The black sole is a fabulous contrast to the ivory footbed. They come off as a little more elegant than a pair in black which is what I was originally hung up on. Everyone is in on the game and they’ve become ubiquitous. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably still end up with a pair in black. They’re a standard I’ve always had in my closet until my recent parting with a beloved pair from Prada that I wore to death. They were perfect which is probably why I can’t decide on a new pair. Nothing compares.
Bottega Veneta Andiamo Raffia, Emme Parsons Meta Sandal, (these are also really good)
